No story here, so I'll improvise. One day, Yoshi was wandering about Yoshi's Island, minding his own business, when Bowser suddenly appeared. He, along with Kamek, Hookbill the Koopa, and Naval Pirhana, captured his friends and took over Yoshi's Island. Yoshi must now free his friends and save his world form Bowser's menace.

A fun, yet simple take on the classic puzzle. The game sports bright, colorful graphics with fitting backgrounds. Lot's of eye candy, but not too much to distract from the game. Light music typical of Yoshi's Island plays in the background. The sounds are a bit more varied in this game. Each character makes their own unique sound effects. This gameplay is intuitive, yet can be easily mastered. You must connect a row of three or more blocks in a horizontal line. Those blocks will disappear from the screen. If you connect enough blocks, you will be able to hinder your opponent by making their stack taller. In the meanwhile, both player's stacks will continue to grow from the bottom of the screen. Whichever player keeps their blocks from rising to the top the longest is the winner! The game also featured many characters from Yoshi's Island, such as Poochie, Raphael the Raven, and Bumpty, who only appears in the Super NES version.
